Regrade Flood-Damaged Surface — Machine Choice

Define the finished purpose, reference levels, underlying material condition and the evidence required by the receiving operation. Geometry alone does not establish structural or agronomic performance.

This reference assembles relevant extracts from the guide library. It is general project planning, not a local project report, verified specification or translated technical publication.

Machine Before - Dugong - Machine After

The machine before Dugong determines what material arrives; the machine after Dugong determines what surface must leave. An excavator can expose formation, a loader can deliver a stockpile, and a roller can compact the placed layer. The scraper's role is bounded by those interfaces.

Before moving material

Identify the upstream operation and its remaining defects.

Receiving operation and checks

Hand over the measured surface to compaction, cultivation, paving or turf preparation. Record which operation owns levels, materials and final acceptance.

The workflow can include Dugong where suitable; it does not assume Dugong replaces adjacent equipment.

How to Choose a Land-Grading Machine

Choose a land-grading machine by the actions the job needs: excavation, local dragging, contained carrying, shaping or final trimming. Start with the finished surface and material journey.

Before moving material

Define quantities, access, soil condition and acceptance requirements.

Receiving operation and checks

Verify the same surface outcome regardless of the selected plant. Include mobilisation, operators and downstream machinery in the comparison.

Do not rank every machine by blade width, horsepower or category name alone.

Rough Grading Correction

Rough-grade correction starts by deciding whether the mismatch is local or distributed across the whole area. A local touch-up is efficient only when the larger formation is already sound.

Before moving material

Survey enough of the area to locate the extent of error.

Receiving operation and checks

Remeasure corrected areas against unchanged reference points. Check that the repair has not moved the error into an adjacent zone.

A repeated failure may require a revised design or foundation repair.

Record the job inputs

Use this checklist to turn the scenario into a specific brief. Retain the design revision and agree who accepts each completed layer.
