Global Land Grade Calculator
Define the finished purpose, reference levels, underlying material condition and the evidence required by the receiving operation. Geometry alone does not establish structural or agronomic performance.
This reference assembles relevant extracts from the guide library. It is general project planning, not a local project report, verified specification or translated technical publication.
Global Land Grading Knowledge Centre
The knowledge centre connects four decisions: the finished purpose, the problem stopping it, the work needed to correct it, and the equipment that can perform that work. Start with the symptom or project rather than a machine name when the cause is uncertain.
Before moving material
Choose a design, application or equipment pathway.
Receiving operation and checks
Take a clear project brief to the person arranging design or rental. Compare the selected guide with the actual site conditions.
Country or town names do not establish a local branch, completed project or available rental machine.

Cutting, collecting, carrying, placing and grading are different tasks. A machine that drags material forward does not necessarily carry a contained load to a distant low area. Break the earthworks into these actions so the route, implement and checking method match the actual work.
Before moving material
Survey high areas, receiving areas and obstacles before loading.
Receiving operation and checks
Recheck levels before another layer or another operation covers the work. Track the destination of material as well as the appearance of the cut.
Material suitability, safe towing and compaction requirements remain separate decisions.
Read the complete Cut, Collect, Carry, Place & Grade guideFrom Rough Grade to Fine Grade
Rough grading establishes the broad shape; fine grading corrects the remaining smaller deviations. Trying to finish while bulk quantities are still wrong can waste passes and disturb completed areas. The changeover should occur when levels are close enough, materials are suitable and the receiving surface is ready for controlled trimming.
Before moving material
Complete major excavation and isolate unsuitable ground.
Receiving operation and checks
Protect the finished area from uncontrolled traffic and schedule the next layer. Check local levels and continuity through joins, not only the average elevation.
Fine grading cannot rescue a weak formation hidden beneath a neat finish.

Use this checklist to turn the scenario into a specific brief. Retain the design revision and agree who accepts each completed layer.
Checklist ticks apply only while this page is open. Include the completed brief in your project records.
